Region 5 will host its Mega Mobile Mania Conference on November 7, 2016 at our downtown Beaumont location, 350 Pine Street, Beaumont.
Come and connect with digital leaders! Educators will return with new ideas and innovative resources for transforming their classroom into a digital-rich environment.

Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in Education - Weihang Zhu, Lamar University
This talk will introduce the application of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) in education. VR replaces the real world with a virtual one. AR overlays pieces of a virtual world over the real world objects. One way to implement VR/AR is to use mobile apps. This means enhancing the images obtained through mobile device's camera with multimedia content. This talk will explain the pros and cons of various AR/VR technologies and the trend of its applications.
