Silsbee ISD Food Service / SFE put on a Farmer's Market at the PK&K Laura Reeves Primary Western Day Festivities. Theye set up a table with fruits and veggies that they probably have never seen before. They had rainbow carrots, potatoes, and cauliflower. Prickly Pear Cactus, mandarines (cross between mandarin oranges and tangerines), tomatillos, portabello mushrooms, kiwis, peaches, dried lentils, couscous, beans that they could touch and feel. The children were also given samples of the carrots, mandarines, kiwi, and cauliflower along with some popcorn and raw coconut. They loved it. The children got "I tried it" stickers and nutrition coloring books to take home.
Angela Olige attended the Directors Meeting on April 25, 2017. She presented a wonderful presentation and covered a multitude of questions also.
